Ventura Community Advisory Committee x Westside Clean Air Coalition

Calling all Westside Ventura Residents: Join CFROG and the Westside Clean Air Coalition for this joint meeting! 

This meeting will be split between CFROG's air monitoring project (5-6pm) and the Westside Clean Air Coalition (6-7pm). Read below for more information!

Since 2018, CFROG has proudly led My People, My Air (Mi Gente, Mi Aire), a community-led air monitoring project focused on West Ventura and Oxnard. These efforts are only possible because of the Community Advisory Committees that lead and inform these efforts with their lived experiences, concerns, priorities, and community expertise. If you're a West Ventura resident, we would love to have you involved on this Community Advisory Committee! Join us on 9/8 to get started -- we will be chatting about this project from 5-6pm.

The second half of this meeting will be focused on the Westside Clean Air Coalition's fight to oppose the expansion of the gas compressor station situated directly across the street from E.P. Foster Elementary School. This compressor station is a major source of pollution in the community, a super-emitter of methane, and poses a huge threat of exploding and incinerating everything within a half mile of the facility. With public hearings and decision-making moments coming up, please join us for this part of the meeting to start preparing, strategizing, and organizing for these important events!
